Jessica Alba appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Monday night to talk about the next steps in her career. After launching and growing her business The Honest Company, Alba is turning back to film and entertainment.
To discuss her upcoming film, she sat on Fallon’s couch wearing a sheer blouse and pencil skirt from Fendi. She matched the top with patent leather pumps of a similar color.
The shoes were classic stiletto pumps from Jimmy Choo. With a heel of almost 4 inches, the shoes are the company’s Love silhouette. The distinctive aspect is the logo hardware on the back tab of the heel.
The stiletto pump is one of the most classic shoes for women and stretches back to the 1950s when Roger Vivier reportedly the created the silhouette. It is characterized as a court style shoe, which covers the toes, sides, and back of the foot with a slender stiletto heel that provides additional height. Most shoe brands have their own versions, introducing iterations with various embellishments, in a myriad of fabrications and at a multitude of heel heights.
In 2004, the rap group Crime Mob released a song about the silhouette titled “Stilettos (Pumps)” about wearing the shoe in the club.
Jimmy Choo is well-known for footwear, having made its initial major splash creating shoes for Princess Diana. Since, Choo has become synonymous with luxury, glamour and celebrity in the business. The company is now under the creative purview of Sandra Choi, a relative of founder Jimmy Choo. Choi has worked at the company since the early days and has recently deployed a series of high fashion collaborations with companies like Jean Paul Gaultier.
The company is a staple on major red carpets.
