Jenna Ortega has arrived in Venice ahead of the premiere of “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” at the 81st Venice International Film Festival. In a nod to character Adam Maitland who originally appeared in Tim Burton’s horror comedy film, Ortega was in Venice on Aug. 27 wearing a black and white plaid jacket, red shirt and khaki shorts — all of which was complemented by maroon loafers from Jimmy Choo.
Adam Maitland is one half of the couple in “Beetlejuice” who dies in a tragic car accident and subsequently haunts their own house to rid it of its new inhabitants. Ortega’s outfit seemed to pay tribute to the ghostly character originated by Alec Baldwin in the 1988 film, but was updated with a chic and feminine flair. The gingham flannel from the movie was swapped out for a plaid blazer from Alessandra Rich; meanwhile, Adam Maitland’s khaki pants were substituted for khaki shorts. Ortega also wore a simple red shirt beneath her jacket just like Baldwin’s character. She accessorized with a large cross-body tote.
Ortega competed the preppy ensemble with a pair of leather loafers from Jimmy Choo. Available in this deep red shade known as garnet in addition to a black option, the Marlow Diamond/F shoes feature a substantial sole enhanced with a faceted design that differentiates the shoe from a typical loafer. The $995 shoes also feature the brand’s Diamond hardware in a gold hue, adorning the vamp with a glamorous shine. Ortega paired the loafers with white socks, an aesthetic she recently embraced with a black pair of loafers.
Ortega has been dressed to the nines throughout the “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” press tour. Recently dressed like Winona Ryder’s Lydia Deetz, who plays her mother in the upcoming sequel, Ortega rounded out another preppy outfit with brogue heels from Thom Browne. She also wore Steve Madden platform Mary Jane pumps with a sequined Vivienne Westwood dress at a photocall in Mexico. See more of the actress’ style below.
