Ugg’s newest collaboration is almost here.
According to the Deckers Brands-owned footwear label, it will launch its new collection with Los Angeles-based designer Reese Cooper next month.
For this tie-up, Reese Cooper recreated the Ugg Classic Mini and Classic Ultra Mini for multi-terrain use from the city to the outdoors. Made with robust materials like Cordura and Gore-Tex, the shoes are made for functionality and outdoor protection, Ugg said.
Looking closer at the shoes, the Ugg Reese Cooper Classic Mini is available in Peyote, Black/Black, and Mandarin Red colorways, and are enclosed in Cordura UltraLite water-resistant fabric. The elastic toggle on the top calf allows the style to be worn in different ways based on the wearer’s needs.
As for the Ugg Reese Cooper Classic Ultra Mini, it features a non-wick, waterproof textile with Gore-Tex lining, offering a technical approach to a beloved model. This style is available in Black and Kalamata.
For the new collaboration’s campaign, Ugg tapped photographer Keith Oshiro to depict the shoe’s durability in a series of pictures shot in North Georgia. Modeled by Bella Newman, Stevan Journey, Ben Weinswig, and Ross Tew, the group explores the Georgia landscape on a paddle boat and seaplane floating nearby.
For designer Reese Cooper, the goal of the collaboration was to create an Ugg that could be considered a true everyday shoe.
“The only thing I ever struggled with when it came to Ugg boots was the weather, so material choice and function came first when initially designing,” Cooper said in a statement. “Once those aspects were locked in, it was just refining and tweaking colors and shape to be more interesting but still wearable daily.”
Anne Spangenberg, president of Ugg, added that this collection is a “perfect fusion” of fashion-focused utility and functionality.
“By reimagining our iconic heritage styles through his classic American lens, this exciting collaboration speaks to all types of terrain and activities, including hiking, fly-fishing, beautiful natural environments,” Spangenberg said. “The collection allows everyone to engage with the outdoors.”
The Ugg Reese Cooper collaboration will be available at Ugg.com, Reese-Cooper.com, and select retailers on April 11.
Ugg’s new collaboration comes just months after the footwear brand teamed up with Tokyo-based label Ambush on a collection that reimagined two classic shoe silhouettes.
