If you felt like PSL season came early this year, just wait until you see Emily Ratajkowski’s latest street style moment.
On September 22, Ratajkowski put the final nail in summer’s coffin by whipping out a pair of Ugg’s chestnut Classic Dipper boots, which she paired with an ultra low-rise knitted skirt in fall’s trendiest shade, tomato red. Although the skirt and slipper boot combo is certainly an unusual one, the pieces provide a nice, slouchy contrast to the more structured layers up top.
Ratajkowski completed the look by stacking a black denim jacket over a cropped white tank top and even more cropped black hoodie. And while her choice of footwear was demonstrably casual, her cat-eye sunglasses and black purse with gold detailing gave the overall look a refined edge.
This is not the first time Emily Ratajkowski gave fall’s comfiest shoe a sartorial upgrade. In September 2020, the model styled Ugg’s Ultra Mini Classic Boots with a neon hoodie and a tailored leather blazer, eschewing bottoms altogether.
If Ratajkowski’s autumnal looks can be described as “New York City cozy,” Zendaya modeled the California version of the aesthetic on her Instagram Story earlier this week. On September 21, posed for a car window selfie wearing a pair of rolled-up white boxers with the leather calf-high boots, dressing the look up and down with luxe jewelry and a navy “Warriors” cap.
Forget quiet luxury; I’ll take chaotic errand dressing over the old money aesthetic anyday.
