The Burberry show is always one of the most-anticipated moments on the London Fashion Week schedule, and sees some of the biggest names in fashion and culture assembling on the front row. Actor Jodie Comer was among the famous faces at the spring/summer 2024 show this afternoon, and she was wearing an outfit Londoners will be living in this autumn.
Biker boots are destined to be a cult buy this autumn – Vogue editors have been scouring eBay and Vestiaire Collective for ’90s styles with chunky soles and lots of buckles. Comer arrived at the Burberry show wearing a knee-high heeled pair by the brand with statement buckles across the front. Think of it as a glossy take on the trend, which has roots in grunge culture, courtesy of the high-shine finish and stacked heel.
Comer styled her knee-highs with a strapless dress in an inky spin on Burberry’s signature check print. It was “London picnic chic”, as one Vogue staffer put it, as the wrap-around effect, checks and buckles made the effect that of a rather literal take on blanket dressing.
Comer was joined on the front row by Rachel Weisz and Kylie Minogue, who were both cloaked in Burberry moss-green coats. Also on the guest list: Mo Farah, Patsy Kensit and her son Lennon Gallagher, Skepta, Kano and Blur frontman Damon Albarn, all of whom were dressed in pieces from Daniel Lee’s debut autumn/winter 2023 collection as creative director of the house.
