Kate Middleton was sharply outfitted for this year’s National Day of Remembrance in London. The annual occasion honors members of the military for their service.
During the occasion, Middleton stood at the Foreign Office balcony in London with Queen Camilla. The Princess of Wales‘ attire for the occasion featured a strong-shouldered black coat, complete with a collared silhouette, zipped bodice and embroidery accented with small black tassels.
Middleton’s attire was complete with a bow-accented black velvet hat, as well as smooth black gloves. An ornate pair of floral post earrings — complete with allover diamonds and large central pearls — finished her look.
The royal also wore two symbolic pins for the occasion: a silver brooch from her appointment as the Commodore-in-Chief, Fleet Air Arm, as well as a brooch shaped like red poppies — which symbolized remembrance of World War 1.
Middleton’s footwear could not be seen during the occasion, though they likely featured a close-toed and heeled silhouette given pairs she’s worn to similarly formal occasions in the past.
Pearl jewelry like Middleton’s is favored for its ornate appearance and classic formality. Post and stud earrings like the royal’s are released year-round due to their popularity, though styles in drop silhouettes have also become a top trend in recent years — as seen in new styles from labels including Ettika, Swarovski and Oscar de la Renta.
Middleton is more typically seen in pointed-toe pumps from Emmy London, Jimmy Choo and Stuart Weitzman, among others. Her go-to style is Gianvito Rossi’s “Gianvito 105” pumps, which she owns in five colors. In addition to her royal rotation of heels, the princess also wears affordable all-white sneakers from New Balance, Adidas, Superga and Zara on and off duty.
