Princess Charlotte looked classically chic as she attended the Christmas Morning Service at Sandringham Church in Sandringham, Norfolk.
The daughter of Prince Wiliam and Kate Middleton slipped into a pair of black Papouelli Mary Jane shoes. The patent leather shoes featured a rounded toe and a thin strap sitting at the front of her ankle, fastened by a gold strap. The set was completed with a block heel that was less than ½ inch tall.
Princess Charlotte paired the glossy pair with black opaque stockings and an olive green Friki wool coat composed of a felt collar and a double-breasted closure with matching buttons.
The princess’ light brown hair was styled into a half-down look with a braid decorating the structured shoulders of her coat.
Princess Charlotte arrived at the ceremony with the rest of her family, including her mother, Kate Middleton, who was also sporting a wool coat. The princess’ royal blue piece hails from the British fashion house Alexander McQueen. She paired the vibrant piece with navy blue Gianvito Rossi knee-high boots.
The Mary Jane trend has continued to gain popularity over the past couple years with designers like Miu Miu, Sam Edelman and Kate Spade New York featuring the style in multiple campaigns. The classic style originated in the early 1900s as a simple but chic set. Now, it has turned into a key component of the resurgence of the preppy look and has become a staple for stars like Jenna Ortega, Hailey Bieber and Olivia Rodrigo.
Princess Charlotte has been seen in various styles of flat-soled children’s shoes over the years. Her shoe closet is filled with shoes in a wide range of colors and materials including Mary Jane straps and side buttons. She has been seen in flats and sneakers from brands like Sam Edelman, Maisonette and Childrenchic.
