What boots do professional gardeners wear?

Professional gardeners most commonly wear waterproof safety boots. This keeps their feet clean, dry and protected from any potential falling debris while pruning or hedging. Safety boots are usually made from a thicker material and fitted with a steel cap at the tip for toe protection.

While having a waterproof gardening boot is definitely recommended for home gardeners, a safety boot is usually not required (unless you’re undertaking serious demo in your yard!).
