Around 21,100 pairs of waterproof boots from The North Face have been recalled after several reports of minor injuries, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported this last week.
According to the alert from the CPSC, the recall involves the women’s Shellista V Mid waterproof boots in sizes 5 through 11. The boots have traditional lace-up closures, and The North Face logo embossed on the side and imprinted on the insole.
It’s this lace-up closure that is causing some issue among consumers. According to the alert, the company has received 28 reports of the top hook catching on the lace of the other boot, including 15 reports of minor injuries in the United States.
The CPSC noted that the boots were sold in white with style number NF0A8ADB3IE, gray with style number NF0A8ADB5IF, tan with style number NF0A8ADBHFQ, and black with style number NF0A8ADBKT0. The style number is located on the label on the tongue of the boot.
The made in Vietnam shoes were stocked at The North Face stores, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Nordstrom, REI, and other stores nationwide, and online at thenorthface.com and other websites from September 2024 through January 2025 for about $165. About 15,200 pairs were sold in the U.S., while about 5,900 were sold in Canada, the alert noted.
The CPSC is instructing consumers to immediately stop using the recalled boots and contact The North Face for instructions on how to return the boots and receive a full refund in the original form of payment, a gift card, or via check if the purchase was made with cash. After contacting The North Face, consumers will receive a shipping label to return the boots free of charge.

This is the latest shoe recall in recent years. In January 2024, around 2,360 pairs of H.H. Brown Shoe Co.’s men’s work boots. According to the alert, the recall involves the men’s Redeemer 11” Waterproof Metguard Comp Toe Roper work boot sold between February 2023 through October 2023.
In November 2023, around 1,860 pairs of Khaite high-heel sandals have been recalled after reports that the heels can detach, posing a fall hazard. According to the alert, the recall involved three styles of Khaite high-heeled sandals. The style names are Linden sandal, Louisa strappy sandal and Seigel heel sandal from the spring-summer 2024 collection.
